Portrait of Amy Rockwell

Robin Marsh (Seattle, WA)
Portrait of Amy Rockwell, 2006
Acrylic on canvas

36”h x 26”w

Robin Marsh grew up in Kirkland, WA. She attended Pacific Lutheran University and The Glasgow School of Art, graduating with a BFA in Painting. Robin resides with her husband and two children at The House of Breaking Glass, an independent recording studio in North Seattle.

Robin is interested in further exploring how art informs and defines the community that it springs from, portraying through representational art something deeper and more true to life than the image itself. Having been immersed in the Seattle music/art community for the last several years, she has experienced how the music/art informs and defines peoples’ perspective on life; Robin attempts to capture the essence of this community through different means, portraiture. Robin’s goal is to somehow capture the simultaneous strength/vulnerability of her subjects.

She incorporates her love of textiles and wallpapers into the compositions, developing patterns that compliment her subjects.

Robin is also available for custom portraiture or silhouettes.
