Steel, neon, and lightbulbs

The imagery on The Prayer is from a Christian children’s record from the 1960’s, airbrused onto steel, with added neon and lightbulbs.

Jen Elek studied glass at New York’s Alfred University where she received a BFA in 1994. In 1995, Elek moved to Seattle. She has been a member of the resident glassblowing team of the Museum of Glass and regularly works for Lino Tagliapietra, Dale Chihuly and Ginny Ruffner. She is also a member of the Butter Eaters, a cutting edge hot glass performance group.
